Dr. Michael Melkers

Dr. Michael Melkers is in private practice in Hanover, NH but impacts students, clinicians and patients worldwide Dr. Melkers is a 1994 graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry & currently serves as Visiting Faculty at Rīga Stradiņš University in Riga, Latvia & as Advisor and Visiting Faculty for The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. Dr. Melkers is a Fellow & Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and holds additional Fellowships in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American College of Dentists.

He maintains a private clinical practice in Hanover, NH with a focus on comprehensive adult restorative care. Dr. Melkers balances his professional time between clinical practice, teaching, publishing and research. In the past, he has been Director of Occlusion & Aesthetic Dentistry at the Pacific Northwest AEGD Residency Program and Visiting Faculty at The Spear Institute. He completed his tenure as Editor for the American Equilibration Society and received the 2018 AES President’s

Distinguished Service Award for his service. He has been involved with the Academy of General Dentistry at a local, state and national level for his entire career Dr. Melkers current passion is serving as the Director for Educator Development for RIPEGlobal, as well as the Co-Director for their Fellowship in Restorative dentistry. His mission is to help students, teams and clinicians realize what is possible and improve the level of patient care, worldwide.

DAY 1:

LECTURE

FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 2024

7:45 A.M. – 5:15 P.M.

Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but the patient, technician, team and clinician-each have a hand in what defines a successful outcome. There are many obstacles and challenges on the path to it. During this interactive lecture, Dr. Melkers will share his real-world experience from communication, diagnosis, case planning and achieving that success. From single tooth to sextant to full mouth rehabilitation, from brown to bleach white, Dr. Melkers will his career experience of helping patients and clinicians achieve their goals and their smiles.

FOLLOWING THE LECTURE ATTENDEES WILL:

  • Have a better understanding of patient-driven, aesthetic goals
  • Appreciate photography for diagnosis, color, lab communication and case acceptance
  • Recognize the key components of smile design
  • Appreciate material choices and how they affect outcome and longevity
  • How staging and phased treatment are possible

DAY 2:

HANDS-ON TRAINING

SATURDAY, JUNE 8, 2024
8 A.M. TO 5 P.M.

Building on Day One, participants will experience the nuances of shape, color and contour. Together we will explore how modifications of each can help us achieve successful outcomes through a sea of challenges.

FOLLOWING THE PROGRAM ATTENDEES WILL:

  • Understand the impact of modifying shape and contour
  • Know how to correct over-bulked and misshaped restorations
  • Be able to fabricate provisional matrices and shell provisionals
  • Stain and characterize provisional restorations

Important Notes:

If you attend the entire 2-day course, you will receive 16 hrs. Esthetics Participation Credit. 16 additional hours of participation credit may be earned by presenting a clinical homework assignment after the course and presenting in the fall of 2024. There is an additional fee of $600.
