(8 hrs of AGD Removable Lecture Credit)

Presenter: Nels Ewoldsen DDS, MSD

More than a decade ago proof-of-concept digital denture reports highlighted a shortened clinical sequence with reduced technician involvement and quality improvements.

Where are we now and what have we learned about digital technology and complete dentures? Which technologies and materials are applicable to removable partial dentures?

Honoring traditional prosthodontic principles as well as scope of practice regulations, this course reveals unique, uncomplicated treatments for patients with or without dental implants. From three appointment complete dentures to partial dentures (analog and/or digital), this presentation features shortened clinical sequences, details responsibilities of a chairside denture technician and demystifies digital (CAD/CAM) as well as analog (traditional lab-fabricated) removable prostheses.

By attending this lecture you will learn:
• tissue conditioning techniques and simplifying replacement denture fabrication
• single appointment denture impressioning techniques
• predictable 3-appointment denture sequences
• simplified approaches to esthetic preview tooth arrangement, lab communication
• which CAD/CAM technologies add value, which don’t
• which CAD/CAM materials and techniques improve partial dentures
• how denture template techniques facilitate implant treatment planning
• advantages/disadvantages: chairside component pick-up vs indirect processing
• maintenance tips and techniques for implant retained dentures
